World University Rankings 2021 by subject: life sciences
The life sciences subject table uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.
It highlights the universities that are leading across the following disciplines: agriculture and forestry, biological sciences, veterinary science and sport science.
This year’s table includes 895 universities, up from 821 last year.

Harvard University tops the ranking, while the universities of Cambridge and Oxford round out the top three. The University of California, Berkeley joins the top 10 after rising six places to eighth and UCL falls out, dropping two places to 12th.
ETH Zurich is the top institution outside the UK and the US, ranking in 13th place, while Tsinghua University is the top Asian institution at 14th.
The highest ranked newcomer is Georgia Institute of Technology, which places in joint 98th position.
