World University Rankings 2021 by subject: psychology
The psychology subject table uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the discipline.
It highlights the universities that are leading across several areas of psychology, including educational, sport, business, animal and clinical psychology.
This year’s table includes 533 universities, up from 494 last year.

Stanford University tops the list for the fourth consecutive year, while the University of California, Berkeley and King’s College London are the highest newcomers in the table, making their debuts at fourth and 11th place respectively.
Meanwhile, the University of British Columbia falls out of the top 10, dropping three places to joint 13th.
Three universities rise to join the top 20: the University of Edinburgh, Carnegie Mellon University and KU Leuven.
The University of Hong Kong has overtaken the National University of Singapore as the top Asian representative. HKU climbs four places to 56th, while NUS drops 12 places to 57th.
