We are seeking an excellent academic with outstanding interpersonal skills to join our staff as an Assistant Lecturer,  in the area of Irish Cultural Heritage in the School of Celtic Studies. This is a full-time temporary contract position, tenable to 31/08/27. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, publication and outreach, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme and the academic life of the School of Celtic Studies.

Assistant Lecturer 2024 Salary Scale: €40,182 – €69,195 p.a. (14 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

 Description The San Diego State University (SDSU) Department of Finance in the Fowler College of Business seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member (Assistant Professor) who has a research and teaching interest in Corporate Finance with an emphasis on big data analytics to begin in Fall 2025. This position is contingent upon state funding. Qualified applicants will hold a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Finance or in a related field by August 2025. The successful candidate will possess strong research interest and capability as evidenced by an appropriate history of, or potential for, professional growth activity. This will include regular publication in high-quality, refereed journals and professional conference participation as well as demonstration of an innovative and active research agenda. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels is preferred. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with members of the business community.The SDSU Fowler College of Business is among the nation's oldest and largest AACSB accredited business schools. Its accomplished faculty and highly ranked academic programs provide an exceptional foundation for an institution with significant regional, national and international impact.  The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is announcing the third round of the Artist-in-Residence Program and is welcoming applications from artists to fill a one-year position starting September 1, 2025.

The NYUAD CGSB was established in 2012 to develop a world-class research environment at NYUAD and in the UAE. The NYUAD-CGSB includes a diverse array of research programs oriented around two main directions, “Biomedicine and Health” and “Environmental Adaptation and Sustainability.” The CGSB encourages and promotes scientific and cultural interactions by regularly hosting events such as lectures, workshops, and Science Cafés, facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge between program participants and the community. The Artist-in-Residence program is an extension of this effort and will bring together scientists and artists to collaborate, communicate, interact, and learn, promoting the creative thinking that drives innovation. The chosen artist is expected to collaborate with scientists on one or several of the CGSB-related research programs.

We have positions in the area of food structure development of texture modified foods. We invite outstanding and talented candidates who are passionate about foods and have a strong desire to develop or enhance their R&D competencies to apply for these positions.

This role is to develop texturants that can be used to tailor the properties of texture modified soft solid foods.  These types of foods can undergo different preparation, cooking and storage processes yet the texture of the foods must meet strict requirements.  The position will formulate and develop texturizing methods to achieve the requirements of various products.  The position requires a strong background in applications of hydrocolloids and thickening agents, food chemistry, rheological characterisation and food product development.  

Key Responsibilities:


	Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
	Undertake these key responsibilities in the project:
	Determine and formulate composition of food products
	Conduct and evaluate appropriate experimental and analytical studies 
	Work with other team members on sensory and nutritional evaluation to develop into the final product
	Document, publish and present research findings to project stakeholders
	Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
	Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.


Job Requirements:


	An excellent degree in food science, colloidal science or related area
	Passion for developing and analysing the behaviour of foods
	Evidence of strong knowledge and interest in food chemistry, texture characterization and applications of hydrocolloids and proteins
	Evidence of ability to lead, manage and perform research independently as well as in a group
	For candidates with PhD qualification, consideration to appoint at research fellow is possible

	Strong experimentation skills and theoretical knowledge in food engineering
	Able to work independently as well as to maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university.
	Show strong initiative and sense of responsibility
	Proficient in technical writing and presentation
