The role/Te mahi

The University is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Senior Professional Practice Fellows in Dentistry.

As a Senior Professional Practice Fellow, you will help support teaching, facilitate learning, assist with assessments, and carry out clinical service/clinical activity both on undergraduate clinics and staff clinics out-with term time.

Some key tasks of the role include:


	clinical teaching/tutoring of undergraduate dentists
	contributing to the Departments academic goals by applying expert clinical knowledge in your area of specialty
	preparation, assessment, teaching and paper administration duties
	following through patient care and referrals within the hospital.

Successful applicants:


	must hold a dental degree and have registration or be eligible for full registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand
	will demonstrate the ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels within the institution
	will show a commitment to uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the Universitys Maori Strategic Framework.


Candidates will also have and maintain registration (if supervised) including:


	a practicing certificate in place before starting work

We have eight job openings, offering both permanent and fixed-term positions, located in Dunedin.

We have opportunities for Dentists with special interests in Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics.

Both full-time (1 FTE) and part-time positions are available, allowing for employment over the full year or semester time only. The duration of any fixed-term positions can be negotiable with the successful candidates. International candidates would need to be available to work a minimum 0.8FTE.

The salary range for these positions is $102,270 to $172,693 per annum (pro rata). Candidates will be appointed to a step on the Senior Professional Practice Fellow scale 3 or 4, dependent on qualifications and skills.

Join the Australian National University (ANU) as Junior Information Security Engineer, where you will be instrumental in protecting and managing the university’s information and communication technology systems across both digital and non-digital environments.

About the Role

As a Junior Information Security Engineer, you will be accountable, under the broad direction of the Manager, Cyber Engineering or the Chief Information Security Officer, for undertaking and achieving complex cyber and information security tasks within a multidisciplinary team to support the Information Security Office’s mission. This position demands a good understanding of cybersecurity, and a commitment to maintaining security and compliance.

Key Duties:  


	Develop and implement comprehensive security controls to protect sensitive information and technologies. 
	Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to assess security risks and implement mitigation measures. 
	Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with evolving security standards and to stay informed of changes in regulations and best practices.
	Oversee the day-to-day operation of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other managed security systems.
	Respond to security incidents promptly, liaising with other teams for performing root cause analysis and implementing remediation controls.
	Continuously monitor network and system activity to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
	Ensure security configurations are applied consistently across all systems and networks, and update configurations as needed to address emerging threats.
	Administer and maintain security tools and platforms, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning correctly.


About You

	Expertise in implementing and managing cybersecurity requirements under the security policies and standards guidelines.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Platform Applications Specialist to join the Biological Optical Microscopy Platform at the University of Melbourne. The Biological Optical Microscopy Platform provides research support for biomedical researchers using high-end optical microscopes in their research. This includes confocal, live-cell, super-resolution, high-content, multi-photon, slide scanning and lightsheet microscopes and associated data analysis software.

The position will report to the platform manager and work with a team of academic and professional staff supporting use of the platform capability.

Your responsibilities will include:


	Provide high-level expertise, advice and assistance to researchers to undertake research projects utilising platform equipment.
	In collaboration with the research groups, contribute to the data generation/interpretation and manuscript drafting/submission of peer-reviewed journals.
	Develop training content & workshops for advanced microscopy applications.
	Provide effective training of research staff & students on platform equipment


Who We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role you will have excellent teamwork and communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders

You will also demonstrate excellent organisational skills, which enable you to evaluate and manage competing demands in a dynamic environment.

You will also have:


	PhD (or equivalent experience) in the biological sciences using model organisms or organoids
	Demonstrated research expertise in tissue clearing/lightsheet microscopy and other advanced optical microscopy applications relevant to the platform (e.g. Confocal Microscopy, High-Content Imaging and Super-Resolution Microscopy Applications)
	Demonstrated expertise in relevant image analysis applications including FIJI/Image J & Imaris
