Applications are invited for the post of Teaching-Focused Lecturer in Computer Science on Integrated Foundation Year (IFY) Programmes at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The well-established and successful IFY at Royal Holloway teaches and supports over 400 students per year across a broad range of disciplines. We are currently expanding the staffing of our STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) strand to enhance the foundation year experience for our students through more discipline-focused courses.

The successful applicant will be an experienced and talented teacher at Level 3, with a strong background in Computer Science, and a particular interest in programming. You will be experienced in using and teaching Python, Javascript, HTML, and CSS in a way that encourages and inspires students to embrace computer programming as part of their learning journey. You will also be an excellent communicator and versatile teacher, able to adapt your teaching methods to fit the diverse backgrounds of our students, in an approach centered on inclusivity, equity and the provision of skills for choice and opportunity.

The Directorate of Student and Academic Services is seeking to appoint a Student Records Administrator.

 

Based within the Student Records team they will be responsible for undertaking a range of administrative duties associated with the maintenance of student records. Ensuring accurate and up to date records within the Student Record System, as well as other tasks such as creating Progression and Award Board cohorts and ensuring accurate data for statutory reporting. 

Working with the Student Records team, colleagues across Student and Academic Services and Faculties, the post holder will on occasion be required to deputise for the Student Records Team Leader in their absence. The successful candidate will have proven experience in a demanding office environment whilst continuing to maintain high levels of service delivery. This role requires strong administrative skills as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the University, liaising with academic departments and professional services staff, to ensure delivery of an excellent student experience.

The associate lecturer will contribute academic to the delivery of the anatomy and pathology practical program in the School of Medicine. They will work with other team members to facilitate student learning of anatomy and pathology across the schools’ programs. The appointee will promote the Faculty within the academic and professional communities in Australia, contributing to the Faculty’s teaching and program development initiatives. The appointee will liaise with students at all levels.

As Associate Lecturer in Medical Science, you will:


	Assist in applying discipline knowledge into student learning experiences to support success and engagement.
	Support innovation in curriculum design and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
	Maintain deep discipline knowledge which is applied to inform curriculum design.
	Facilitate collaborative learning opportunities for students and provide academic mentoring and support
	Assist course teams in integrating new pedagogical research across all aspects of education.


To be successful, you’ll have: 


	PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
	Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and pathology and its delivery in an educational setting
	Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs.
	Demonstrated capacity and passion for teaching, research and facilitation of student learning.
	Demonstrated capacity to provide academic support and guidance to students, ensuring an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pūkenga - Lecturer (Teaching) in Software Engineering to join the Te Kura Mātai Pūkaha, Pūrorohiko - School of Engineering and Computer Science on a four-year, fixed-term contract.

This position represents a chance to join and help shape a collaborative teaching and learning experience for Victoria University and Xiamen University students and staff. All areas of Software Engineering are of interest, but applications are particularly welcome from candidates with extensive teaching experience in programming, cybersecurity, and computer.

Key responsibilities:


	Provide high quality and critically reflective teaching practices
	Contribute to innovations in learning, teaching, and assessment within the discipline, including demonstrating digital fluency
	Contribute to the review and re-design of programmes and courses
	Engage in regular professional development that leads to enhanced teaching practice and where relevant, inclusion of practitioner perspectives
	Contribute to the collegial development of the Programme, Academic Unit and Faculty through respectful and transparent interactions with colleagues
	Undertake job evaluations in accordance with the University's remuneration framework and job evaluation


It is expected that the appointee will contribute to teaching across three trimesters. You will be required and expected to teach in China for periods of up to 20 weeks at a time throughout the year and will be based in New Zealand at Victoria University of Wellington for the remainder.
