National Research Nuclear University MEPHI was founded in 1942. In 2009 it united 10 higher and 13 specialised secondary educational establishments to train specialists for nuclear and other high-tech spheres. The educational process is based on fundamental physics and mathematics studies and engineer training, and stipulates active research work. The strategic goal of MEPHI is to become a global leader in education, science and innovation in nuclear, radiation, subnano- and nano-technologies and engineering, providing a significant contribution to the innovation-driven growth and the competitiveness of the Rosatom State Corporation and other leading Russian high-tech companies in global markets.
