Your personal sphere of play:

The Wanninger Lab is hiring a Postdoc in Invertebrate EvoDevo. We are a dynamic, international group situated in the recently built University of Vienna Biology Building (UBB) with new labs to perform top-notch molecular and morphological research. Additional infrastructure includes animal care facilities to maintain and rear aquatic and terrestrial animals as well as access to sequencing facilities, high-end computer clusters, and an imaging and electron microscopy core facility. Research in our group covers various invertebrate animals. The successful candidate is expected to work on mollusks, a core target taxon of our lab for which a wide range of molecular resources and established lab protocols are available. Previous experience with these animals is not required, but candidates should have a strong interest in working with little-investigated, aquatic, non-model invertebrate animals. The exact research agenda of the candidate will be developed together with the PI; the position is flexible to account for specific interests of the candidate. We seek an enthusiastic lab member who is capable of working rather independently, yet will integrate and interact with other group members. The position is available from July 14th, 2025 onwards. The start date is somewhat flexible and can be negotiated with the PI. The position is fully funded for six years.

Your future tasks:

The successful candidate will work in the group of the PI, Prof. Andreas Wanninger. Within the overall framework and research foci of the Wanninger lab, the PostDoc may work rather independently. Projects will be developed jointly with the PI; significant input from the candidate is highly desired. The job includes active participation in research, teaching, and administration. This involves:


	Developing research projects together with the PI
	Perform independent research in conjunction with the PI
	Draft/write scientific papers
	Publish in established international, peer-reviewed scientific journals
	Presentation at international scientific conferences, meetings, and workshops
	Share own knowledge with other members of the Department
	Contribute to introducing new lab members and students to scientific methods
	Contribute to the teaching portfolio of the Department
	Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
	Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance


This is part of your personality:


	The successful applicant must hold a PhD in Biology or a related discipline.
	Postdoctoral research experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
	Applicants should have experience with designing research projects and with composing scientific manuscripts.
	The scientific profile and expertise should include molecular approaches to EvoDevo questions (e.g., qualitative and quantitative gene expression analysis, transcriptomics). Experience in bioinformatics applications is a plus.

Description
The Civil Engineering Program in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Structural Engineering (SE).  Applicants should have a demonstrated record of excellence and/or show exceptional promise for high-quality research, teaching, and professional development that could contribute to one or more of the following areas: (a) seismic analysis and design, (b) bridge and building structures, (c) advanced nonlinear structural analysis, (d) advanced structural/sustainable materials, (e) experimental techniques with prediction and post-test analyses.Applicants must hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or closely related discipline, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, or closely related discipline, by the date of hire. Applicants should be active researchers who will develop and maintain an extramurally supported research program, publish and disseminate research findings, and serve as leaders at the forefront of their field. The candidate is expected to instruct and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom and in research.  Pursuing professional registration is expected.A well-equipped structural engineering laboratory is available for use, including a unique earthquake shaking table that is capable of large displacements and accelerations, and a unique testing machine that can apply over one million pounds of force in a controlled and stable manner in displacement control.  National and international design codes for buildings and ships have been modified directly based on structural tests (and related analysis) from both of these unique machines, which were designed and built in-house by SDSU faculty, engineers, technicians and students.  A structural materials testing lab is also available for use.    The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering department is one of the four departments in the College of Engineering at SDSU with EAC, ABET-accredited B.S. degree programs, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs (the latter is offered in conjunction with the University of California, San Diego through the Joint Doctoral Program).Founded in 1897, San Diego State University is a public institution of higher education located in southern California. About the opportunity

The Senior Manager, Faculty Student Recruitment provides strategic leadership and development of faculty-level student recruitment strategies in partnership with the leadership of the faculties and schools within their portfolio and in collaboration with the Director, Faculty Partnerships and Recruitment Services. The primary function of the role is to provide highly specialised product and market expertise across domestic and international recruitment, overall strategic portfolio management and guidance to enable Sydney Future Students to develop, inform and lead on faculty/school student recruitment outcomes aligned to the University's strategy.

This role works to ensure the University's courses remain competitive and relevant in the higher education sector through the provision of expert, in-depth product insights drawn from extensive market knowledge, and experience in data analysis and competitive benchmarking, interpretation of industry and government policy, and strategic planning. Working to consistently align University practices and processes to relevant industry standards, trends and key benchmarks ensuring that relativity is understood and managed against leading market practices using commercially astute frameworks and strategies.

This role will also be responsible for leading and managing team members and is accountable to ensure their delivery of consistently excellent student recruitment activities, including, but not limited to a range of events and reports in support of the overarching strategic goals. A willingness to work flexible hours in order to support various student recruitment campaigns to prospective students, including to support in-market events and engagement activities will be required.

About you


	demonstrated capacity and experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of multiple staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues
	demonstrated experience of product management and utilisation of data to inform decision making
	extensive experience in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and plans related to student recruitment
	extensive experience working in the higher education sector at a senior level and within a student recruitment capacity
	proven management experience at a senior level; together with flexibility, capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and environments and, when necessary, navigating through ambiguity
	excellent communication and negotiation skills, including public speaking and presentation
	superior relationship management skills and capacity to manage competing, varied needs of diverse stakeholders
	ideally have experience utilising Power BI Suite, in addition to experience in producing high quality stakeholder reports.
