About the role  ​We are seeking to appoint a Senior Communications Manager.  The postholder will provide trusted communication guidance to the Executive Dean, Director of Operations and other members of the Faculty Senior Leadership Team. They will deliver high calibre, multi-channel communications to the faculty’s key stakeholder groups, highlighting the achievements of our people, and their teaching, research and impact. In doing so, the role holder will develop new and creative ways to engage our communities with the faculty’s work, and develop new opportunities for the faculty, our staff and our students. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in developing and delivering coordinated and integrated communications strategies across a variety of areas. and PR. The successful candidate will have extensive professional knowledge and expertise and will ensure the effective cascade and dissemination of messaging on areas of strategic importance and support the delivery of the faculty’s communications plans and strategies. They will support the Faculty Executive in its key communications objectives and oversee the delivery of effective internal (all student and all staff messaging) and external communications. The post-holder will work closely with academic, professional service and clinical colleagues to increase awareness of research, teaching and other key activities across the faculty. This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract About you To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria Significant relevant experience within a communications or media role. A proven track record in planning and implementing communication strategies and plans working with a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to produce effective content for a varied audience across different channels, in a timely fashion, and with evaluation of the impact and success. Experience of absorbing and evaluating complex information from a variety of sources to create clear and engaging content, preferably within an academic, health or public sector environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including editing and proof-reading to a high level. High-level stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with and effectively influence senior internal and external stakeholders. A demonstrable ability to work under pressure with strong time management and proven ability to deliver to tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines. Excellent IT skills and experience in creating and managing web content and social media channels within a content management system and/or using relevant tools. Desirable criteria A qualification or demonstrable training in marketing, media, public relations or communication skills Experience of working in the higher education sector. The Department of Arts and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Architecture and Urban Design Practice.  According to the current plan, a Faculty of Design will be established at the new campus, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Architecture and Urban Design. Qualifications 1. Doctoral degree (or equivalent terminal degree) in Architecture and Urban Design or related areas; 2. A track record in design practice, teaching and research in one or more of the following areas: a. architecture and urban design practice; b. advanced architecture and urban design technology; 3. Extensive experience as a practitioner and educator for senior positions; 4. An excellent record of architecture and urban design projects and design awards is preferred; 5. Since our foundation in 1982, we have contributed to the theoretical advancement of translation and interpreting studies, whilst achieving real-world applicability by studying translation and interpreting as socio-technological practices, highlighting their economic and social value and their role as an enabling force for a globally connected world.  We are seeking a Research Fellow to support research and impact activities in an evolving strand of work focused on improving accessible communication for people with learning disabilities and other underserved audiences, particularly in audiovisual and cultural contexts. The postholder will contribute to translating research insights into practical tools, guidance and training, building on established collaborations with charities, cultural organisations and industry partners, and complementing our wider research in media accessibility. About you The successful candidate will have a strong interest in inclusive and accessible communication, experience supporting impact activities and stakeholder engagement, and excellent communication and organisational skills. A clear understanding of research impact and knowledge exchange is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with academic and non-academic partners.
