The University Library is a key piece of collection infrastructure for researchers and students. The Collection Access and Discovery functional area of the Library manages acquisitions, access, systems, metadata and digital scholarship. Digital Scholarship services include digitisation of ANU collections, management of the institutional repository Open Research and Data Repository Data Commons, and geographic information system (GIS) services and support. CartoGIS Services is responsible for providing high level advice, guidance and support in the design, development, production and implementation of cartographic and geographic information systems (GIS) research practices across the University for research, education and outreach purposes. CartoGIS Services aims to raise awareness of the application of GIS through the development of a community of scholars in which geospatial analysis and visualisation are used to inform trans-disciplinary research and education.   The GIS Specialist will promote the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in ANU research by delivering a suite of GIS training modules and working with the Asia Pacific Map Collection. We have an exciting opportunity at the University of Southampton for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work within a highly skilled team, we have our own workshop to carry out on-site repairs, including milling, turning, and welding. We work across a range of mechanical plant including HVAC, BMS, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Ancillary Systems, and our own CHP District Networks.  We are a research university with a variety of different properties ranging from specialist laboratories and clean rooms, world-renowned cutting-edge research facilities, sports and catering outlets, halls of residence accommodation and office spaces. This spans over a vast estate, this role will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance of Mechanical systems across the University, to keep our estate operational. You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to plan and manage your own workload. You will need to be positive with a can do attitude and proactive problem solver to be able to manage a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be able to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will hold a City and Guilds qualification and/or minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline and have successfully completed a Mechanical apprenticeship or similar training programme. You will be familiar with Health & Safety legislation and understand risk assessments, method statements, and how to apply these to planned and reactive maintenance. You will have experience of maintenance in a commercial or similar environment. A full driving license and participation in an out of hours call out rota are required. About us: The Department of Psychology was founded in 1950 at the Institute of Psychiatry (now the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, IoPPN); since when it has carried on a distinguished programme of research, teaching and clinical practice, with a long-standing link with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will contribute specialist health psychology teaching on our BPS accredited MSc (Health Psychology) and BSc (Psychology) programmes. The appointment will be made on the Academic Education Pathway, where the primary contribution is to education (80% of role) and secondary contribution to scholarship which is primarily education-focused (20%). On average, this would be the equivalent of four days a week spent on education. The AEP contract is focused on the delivery of education, education-related scholarship, and leadership in education. The following expectations are associated with the AEP: teaching, supervision, student support, educational leadership and innovation, education-related research and administration. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague who can make a distinctive contribution to health psychology education and supervision across our accredited MSc in Health Psychology and BSc Psychology programmes. You should have excellent teaching and communication skills and be able to inspire and inform students. As post holder, you will provide educational leadership on our MSc in Health Psychology. This would include programme and/or module leadership, course delivery, assessment, research project supervision, and personal tutor roles. You may also support other undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses within the school and faculty, and across King’s, for example with project supervision. You should be able to demonstrate suitable teaching skills and experience including curriculum development and assessment design, along with an ability to supervise student research dissertations. The scholarship component of the role should not exceed 20% and is expected to be substantially education focused. Therefore, your research should either be in a pedagogical area or one that impacts on the student experience and/or leads to evidence-based teaching. The content of a member of staff’s workload will be decided in discussion with the Head of Department or Deputy Head (Health). This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
