Final Word

五月 26, 1995

This week's Final Word comes from a naval reformer with a feel for ciphers:

"And so I betake myself to that course which (is) almost as much as to see myself go into my grave - for which, and all the discomforts that will accompany my being blind, the good God prepare me."

The winner of last week's competition, who correctly identified Mary Shelley's Frankenstein , is Laura F. Spira of Oxford Brookes University.
