In response to the letter published in the March 16 issue of The Times Higher relating to the treatment of contract staff, the anonymous writer failed to mention that Bedfordshire University follows the Royal Society concordat.
Moreover, leaders of research groups have always worked hard to keep valued research staff in post between grants. In fact, the university adopted good practice guidelines well in advance of recent employment legislation.
