I was somewhat bemused by the apparent discrepancy between the article "UK's foreign legion continues to expand" (June 15), the editorial "Cosmopolitan campuses" and "Nul points for our global tune" (Working Knowledge, June 15). Would it not be possible for universities to use the expertise of their globalised workforces to develop innovative ways of helping UK students to "function internationally"? At the same time, academics from overseas are likely to need assistance in adjusting to practices in UK academe.
