Nigel Probert (Letters, 3 October) opposes student feedback on the grounds that the teacher’s intuition is “a natural process more immediate and more valuable than formal feedback”. Sir Karl Popper definitively demolished this view some decades ago when he observed: “Intuition prevents some people from imagining that anyone could possibly dislike chocolate.”
