Stress the positive

二月 9, 2007

Your report on stress in the university workplace ("UCU set to sue over workload burdens", January 26) paints an inaccurate picture.

The article, which was based on a "national" survey with received responses from 1,000 employees only from across both further and higher education, failed to point out that the figures for working hours related to term time only, not to averages over the whole year.

However, what was most disappointing was that the article failed to mention any of the positive work that is being done.

This includes the Universities and Colleges Employers Association's publication Preventing and Tackling Stress at Work , which has received a great deal of acclaim across the sector, and the active follow-up that has taken place on the issue through regional workshops and in national seminars.
