Wishful thinking

六月 17, 2010

Your obituary of my former colleague Wynne Godley (10 June) failed to mention his sense of humour. He would have smiled at your description of him as the director of the department of planned, rather than applied, economics at Cambridge. He was criticised by free marketeers for pointing out the dangers of deregulation, and warned of the global credit crunch. Perhaps if it had been planned economics, we would all be better off.
