Association of University Teachers call on Forsyth to support an independent pay review body

一月 17, 1997

* The Association of University Teachers has called on Michael Forsyth, secretary of state for Scotland, to support an independent pay review body for academic and related staff, writes Olga Wojtas.

Mr Forsyth is about to issue a white paper announcing a pay review body for Scottish school teachers. In a letter to Mr Forsyth, AUT assistant general secretary David Bleiman says: "Now that you have made your views known in such clear terms, logic and consistency demand that you should carry this argument into the Cabinet, where the support of your colleagues would clearly be necessary for a United Kingdom-wide pay review body for university teachers and related staff."
