(Photograph) - The financial squeeze on universities in recent years is set to continue. And it is not just academic provision that is undergoing a big transformation. As this issue of Campus Services shows, estates and building management and the provision of services also face a big shake-up as higher education begins to behave more and more like a market. In the future, the relationship between academic provision on the one hand, and the management of university estates and delivery of services on the other, will be much closer, as institutions seek to extract maximum output from limited resources.
