FETISHISM. A touring exhibition from the Hayward Gallery and Brighton Museum will make its final stop at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich between October 17 and December 10. Fetishism is no modern phenomena but has its roots in the human psyche. People have always been drawn to find power and significance in inanimate objects. The exhibition explores three moments of fetishism in the history of art: African "power objects"; Surrealist evocations in work by Dali, Giacometti and Man Ray; and new, often disturbing, fetishistic works by contemporary artists.
