PORTRAIT OF A LADY. Final days of Part Two of the Royal College of Art's degree show includes the schools of applied art, architecture, interior design and furniture, design for industry, communication design, fashion and textiles, the moving image and humanities.

The work, which ranges from a life-sized portrait of a black rhino (right) through air-filtered baby's pushchair and low-cost papier mache coffin, is displayed in the Darwin Building on Kensington Gore (adjacent to Royal Albert Hall). LANCASTER PROMS. The University of Lancaster Music Society will be holding its Proms Concert on June 25 (National Music Day). It includes performances by: symphony orchestra - London Suite by Eric Coates and Festival Overture by Shostakovich; wind band - Mazama and Scottish Dances by Malcolm Arnold; big band - Turning up by Toshiki Akirohi, Soul eyes arranged by Patrick White and Yard bird Suite by Charlie Parker, arranged by Dick Biels. PROTESTANT NONCONFORMISTS. The first conference of the Association of Denominational Historical Societies and Cognate Libraries will be held at Westhill College, Selly Oak, Birmingham on July 28-30. HOLOCAUST EDUCATION. A conference for European Union teachers, trainers and educational policy makers will be run from July 4-7 by The Spiro Institute, London. Themes include: The Holocaust - why teach it?; Antisemitism; resources - innovative methods and materials; different approaches in different countries; the forgotten victims - romanies, homosexuals and others. YOUTH 2000. An international conference in Middlesbrough on July 19-23 will focus on different experiences, media images and issues affecting youth.
