All-inclusive pricing

June 14, 2018

How can Mike Boxall argue that dividing tuition fees by the hours of teaching is not a measure of value for money because of “the costs of overheads of providing an undergraduate education” (“The ‘value for money’ myths debunked”, Opinion, 7 June)?

When I go to a football match, I accept that the cost of my ticket reflects the overall costs of running a football club. I divide the price of my season ticket by the number of matches it pays for; students should do the same with their education.
