Brussels, May 2004
EBN, the European business and innovation centre (BIC) network, is holding its 13th annual congress in Malaga, Spain, on 17 and 18 June.
This year's congress will focus on cooperation between large corporations and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) aimed at boosting European economic growth and competitiveness.
With large companies looking at various options from downsizing and outsourcing to external networking for research and development (R&D), a clear opportunity exists to explore and improve models of partnership and cooperation between these firms and clusters of innovative small businesses.
Specific issues for discussion during the congress workshops and roundtables include: industrial spin-offs, technology transfer and licensing of internal patents, R&D outsourcing, clever clustering, corporate venturing, joint venturing, corporate incubation, and collaborative business development.
