Brussels, 07 Oct 2005
An international conference on innovation, 'Achieving growth through strategic innovation', will take place in Brussels, Belgium, from 13 to 15 November.
The conference will provide an important forum for European business leaders and government authorities to discuss innovation policy and to review approaches to fostering innovation at the national, regional and organisational level. MIT faculty and industry speakers will focus on current and future innovation mechanisms, evaluate measures designed to support innovation, and present specific innovation opportunities for an ageing population.
To add a political dimension, the organisers have invited the Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, the Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Enterprise and Industry, Günter Verheugen, and the Commissioner for Science and Research, Janez Potocnik. Their presence will allow participants to discuss visions for innovation and research in a dialogue with high-level representatives from industry, public policy and research.
