Nice to see that somebody is benefiting from the University for Industry even before the pilot project is fully under way. Gerry Holtham, director of pilot sponsors at the Institute for Public Policy Research, told a Brighton fringe meeting: "It has cured me of being self-conscious about being an economist. I was used to jokes like 'If all the economists were laid end to end they wouldn't reach a conclusion'. But then I started going to meetings with educationists and felt amazingly liberated. Economists By comparison are remarkably unanimous.''
