Academics from Wales and Tanzania are to be united under a new twinning agreement. Bangor University is the first UK institution to lead a pairing under the University Twinning and Networking Scheme run by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco). Under the arrangement, about 14 academics from Bangor's School of Ocean Sciences will collaborate with 20 marine scientists from the Institute of Marine Sciences, Zanzibar, which is part of the University of Dar es Salaam. The goal is to create a regional centre of excellence in marine sciences and technology.
