* Prospective medical students carrying hepatitis B should not be banned from entering medical school, the British Medical Association agreed at its annual conference in Belfast this week.
The BMA carried the motion: "that the prohibition of hepatitis B carriers from gaining entry into a medical school or completing their medical degree is grossly unjust and should be reversed, given the plethora of medical career options that do not require performing exposure-prone procedures."
