Brussels, 30 July 2002
A conference devoted to technological innovation in design and construction will take place at the British Museum, London, on 29 January 2003.
The morning session will examine technological innovation as an aid to the architectural design and construction management phases. Speakers will focus upon the development of new techniques, using examples from technologically innovative projects. This session will also look at the increasing use of project extranets and off site monitoring, and give examples of how such techniques have benefited the project.
The afternoon session will focus on post construction technological innovation and the needs of the user. Topics will range from retro fitting new technology and the potential conflict between user needs, conservation and heritage, to more anticipatory needs such as artificial intelligence, ubiquitous and pervasive technology.
The conference organisers have issued a call for papers for the event.
