British universities are rushing to China on undergraduate recruitment drives

British universities are rushing to China on undergraduate recruitment drives to make up for the shortfall they have suffered from other countries in the region.

According to the British Council in Beijing, the number visiting China on recruitment drives in the past two months is ten times greater than the same time last year.

Stephen Forbes, assistant director at the council, said most are new universities coming to China for the first time. "Some of them have rather ambitious expectations for what is possible," he said.
