Brussels, 22 May 2002
The Slovenian government has opened up its national research programme to research partners from the EU with the publication of a call for tenders.
The call follows a decision by the EU-Slovenia association council in 1999 regarding the terms and conditions for the participation of Slovenia in Community programmes in the field of research, technological development and demonstration (RTD) activities under the Fifth Framework programme (FP5), as well as the Memorandum of understanding between the Republic of Slovenia and European Community on reciprocity.
The subject of the call is the co-financing of basic and applied research projects in the following areas:
natural sciences and mathematics,
engineering sciences,
medical sciences,
biotechnology,
social sciences and
humanistic sciences.
Research entities established in the Community are eligible to participate in the public call for proposals on a project-by-project basis and shall cover the costs of their own research activities within the project, including management and administrative costs of the project on the pro rata basis.
The call was published in the Official Journal No. 39/2002 and is also accessible on the home page of the Ministry of education, science and sport www.mszs.si/slo/aktualno/javni_razpis.asp?ID=399 .
