Representatives from the European Commission will attend BIO 2004, the world's largest biotech industry meeting, which will take place in the US, in San Francisco, from 6 to 9 June.
The Commission will use the event to raise awareness of the opportunities open to academia and industry in the EU's research programmes, not only for Europeans, but also for researchers from other countries wishing to participate in collaborative projects with European researchers.
Some three billion euro of EU funds is available for life science research over the period 2003 to 2006.
