Brussels, 04 July 2002
The issues surrounding patenting in Europe will be addressed at an event to be hosted by the Danish Presidency in Aalborg, Denmark on 28 and 29 October.
The conference will present to attendees the suggestion that Denmark has proposed to other EU Member States: the provision of insurance for legal services, which companies could use to protect their patents against infringements. A report prepared by the European Commission and the Danish government's exact proposal for the scheme will be presented.
Other issues that will be discussed include the role of national patent offices and the Directive proposal on software.
