The six colleges of the University of Wales attracted Pounds 5.4 million, the eight Scottish universities Pounds 20.4 million, and the two Northern Irish universities Pounds 1.6 million.

Cambridge, which moved up from third place, received Pounds 6.2 million, a 5 per cent increase in cash terms on 1992/93 and a 38.7 per cent increase on 1991/92. Imperial College, also second last time, received Pounds 6.1 million, a 2.1 per cent drop but still nearly double the next London college, University College London.
