Universities and spin-off companies based in the United Kingdom have a May 16 deadline to apply to compete for the European Information Society Technologies Prizes, worth a total of E600,000 (Pounds 355,000).
Only one UK company was among the winners last year. Knowledge Support Systems (www.kssg.com) won E5,000 and was showcased at the European Information Technologies Conference in Helsinki in November.
The company floated on the Techmark exchange earlier this month.
The executive jury for the prizes will be chaired by Sir Derek Roberts, former provost of University College London.
