Internet penetration is now greater in Europe than in the USA, according to a new survey.
While the USA has 183 million users, Europe has 186 million, according to the nua.com survey. Asia-Pacific has 168 million. Levels have been rising in Europe, while they are largely static in the rest of the world.
The President of the Internet advertisers bureau, Danny Meadows-Klue, was reported as saying that the news represented a 'turning point' and that 'the world's focus is shifting to Europe'.
There are now 581 million Internet users worldwide, with 174 million having joined over the past 21 months.
