Fellows in teaching

The University of Teesside has appointed its first teaching fellows. The appointments are aimed at academics who wish to specialise in teaching, offering an equivalent career progression to readerships and professorships on the research side. Vice-chancellor Derek Fraser said he hoped the two - Liz Barnes and Patricia Egerton - would be the first of many. The aim, he said, was to build a "cadre of high-quality professional teachers to disseminate good practice and guidance across the university".
