(Photograph) - Demonstrators at Hebron University burn Israeli and United States flags in the continuing dispute over Israeli settlements. Meanwhile, Birzeit University has welcomed an official investigation into the shooting of student Abdallah Khalil Abdallah Saleh, allegedly by an Israeli border policeman.
The university called for publication of the results of the investigation into the killing, which happened during clashes at a checkpoint on a main road into Jerusalem. It also demanded a halt to the construction of Israeli settlements which it said were counter-productive to Israel's declared intention to participate in a peace process with the Palestinian people.
Abdallah was a second-year electrical engineering student at Birzeit. His family lives near the Israeli settlement construction on Mount Abu Ghnaim where there have been 11 days of demonstrations and more than 450 injuries to Palestinians.
