Former student Russel Ogden, who abandoned his postgraduate studies on Aids suicides and euthanasia at Exeter University amid a row over research ethics, is thinking of suing for damages. He is asking the National Union of Students for advice and aid.
In an internal inquiry in September, Exeter University admitted it had mishandled the dispute over guaranteeing the anonymity of those who had helped people with Aids to kill themselves. Mr Ogden, a single parent with two daughters, said: "I sold my house and gave up an eight-year career in social work to study for a PhD."
