Genetic assessment too early for insurers

IT IS too early for the insurance industry to make judgements about the implications of genetic testing, says a report from the Human Genetics Advisory Commission, which instead recommends a two-year moratorium on asking clients seeking insurance for their genetic test results. Sir Colin Campbell, vice chancellor of Nottingham University and chairman of the commission, called for active research on how to translate test results.
