Geographers may not be noted for their sense of humour, but the venue for this week's annual conference of the Royal Geographical Society-Institute of British Geographers is clearly an in joke. The conference, entitled "Changing Places", is being hosted by Kingston University, but is in fact taking place at the University of Surrey. Kingston pleads a dearth of accommodation. The programme includes a trip to Gatwick Airport, although it is not clear whether delegates plan to go on from there.
