We note that a post is advertised in the German department of Goldsmiths College, London. Those thinking of applying, and those asked to provide references for candidates, might recall that our colleague Cyril Edwards, a long-standing member of that department, was made redundant by the college at short notice last year, despite his record of committed and successful teaching and his internationally recognised distinction in research.
