Performance arts students at Edge Hill University are the first in the country to be offered modules in "bungee-assisted aerial performance". The university introduced the modules, which embrace "various techniques using rope, bungee and harness allowing vertical dance or ground-to-air movement", in September, in response to the rising popularity of aerial dance displays. Karen Jaundrill-Scott, programme leader for dance, said: "Aerial performance has reached an exciting stage of its evolution as people realise and acknowledge the range of possibilities it affords for the dance genre as a whole, which is why we wanted to offer our students this unique opportunity."
