Governors should give research a chance

COLLEGE governors and senior managers should help develop a research culture in further education by easing bureaucratic control, a principal has said. Bob Fryer, principal of Northern College and chairman of the National Advisory Group into Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning, told delegates at the Further Education Development Agency conference that the sector had a key role to play in collating information about trends and patterns in post-16 education.
