Greenwich bids for Naval site

十一月 17, 1995

The University of Greenwich launched its bid this week for the Royal Naval College in Greenwich, saying that its cost savings on other sites would pay for work on the college. The university would not say how much the bid was worth.

Vice chancellor David Fussey said the bid to take over the site from the Ministry of Defence offered "a wonderful functional fit". The university would eventually pay 75 per cent of the Pounds 2 million currently spent on the site by the Department of National Heritage.

It would not bear the full cost since it was planning extensive public access to the site, for which students should not be made to pay.
