Homework motivators

Primary school pupils will be pleased to hear that research at the Institute of Education reveals that homework is not always a good thing. Susan Hallam and Richard Cowan told the education Section of the British Psychological Society meeting at the University of Exeter this week that teacher expectations are one of the most decisive factors in motivating pupils to do homework, but that parents helping children with their homework can create tensions in the family.
