The government has invited tenders from institutions wishing to host an £800,000 women in science, engineering and technology resource centre.
As part of its strategy to help boost the number of female researchers in these fields, the government announced the centre in April after Baroness Greenfield's report on women's participation.
The centre will advise employers, run a database of female experts, and produce good-practice guidelines. It will also try to pull in private funding and set up mentoring and networking schemes.
