University protests at isolation by Israel
Bir Zeit University has called for a peaceful protest today against Israeli trenches that have closed the only road linking it to the rest of the West Bank. More than 1,000 Palestinian protesters were teargassed by the Israeli army as they supported attempts to reopen the road at the weekend.
Man shot in student clash with Lagos police
A man was shot dead during two days of clashes between university students and police in Lagos, Nigerian police said. Running battles between joint police-army units and students, most from the University of Lagos, began on Friday.
