TESSA Blackstone, education and employment minister, called this week for submissions to a government white paper on lifelong learning that is pencilled in for late October. In May, the Government set up a working group on adult learning, to be chaired by Bob Fryer of Northern College, and charged it with shaping the white paper. The group has also been asked to consider family and community learning, the contributions of further and higher education to adult learning, and the development of learning towns and cities. Submissions should be sent to Ken Ogle at the DfEE by early September.
