Money for teaching

六月 26, 1998

A FUND of about Pounds 30 million is to be set aside by the Higher Education Funding Council for England to reward excellent teaching.

The bonus cash, which is likely to be of particular benefit to Oxford and Cambridge, could be allocated by a bidding process, according to Bahram Bekhradnia, director of policy at HEFCE. He said individual academics or institutions would cite outstanding achievements to apply for the awards.

Staff could win time to pursue projects, take sabbaticals or develop materials.
