CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is providing a new dedicated service for research and training activities related to nuclear energy and technologies.
The service, part of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) portal, offers central access to all related information, including a brief overview of the indirect actions covered, news, forthcoming events and direct links to ease application for participation in research funding opportunities. Some 190 million euro has been earmarked for research in this field under FP6.
Users can quickly access documentation on open and forthcoming calls, identify support, browse more than 200 past projects and consult publications and useful links. In addition, this service offers quick access to the details of over 130 organisations willing to participate in fission related research.
The service provides timely information and will highlight upcoming activities, or newly funded projects as soon as information becomes available. This dedicated web interface also aims to promote programme activities ranging from management of radioactive waste and radiation protection to safety of nuclear installation and the risks of exposure. A separate service offers information on fusion related research. http://www.cordis.lu/fp6-euratom/home.ht ml
