A scheme has been launched to strengthen links between a university and the local community and build on work with partner schools and colleges.
The Nottingham Trent University Partnership Scheme has been set up by the institution's schools, colleges and community outreach team to provide a more coordinated approach to its widening participation activities. As well as supplying information on higher education to local schools, Nottingham Trent will also be running talks and workshops, campus taster days on specific subjects and residential summer schools. It is estimated that two-thirds of pupils participating in certain programmes will be from areas with some of the highest levels of deprivation in the country.
