The National Union of Students this week called on the Conservative Party to clarify its position on fees, following the unveiling of the party's radical plans to privatise higher education institutions.
Owain James, president of the NUS, said: "Before the last general election, all parties said they were opposed to fees but, with no manifesto pledges, we saw fees introduced within 12 weeks. We are calling on all parties to clearly state their position on top-up fees in their manifestos."
